Every Fall the city of Lincoln City, Oregon hosts a Fall Kite Festival at "D" River Wayside State Park on Oregon highway 101. This year the festival was made more interesting as high tide occurred in the middle of the afternoon, causing the flying area to get quite narrow for a few of the events. In addition, on Saturday the wind blew off the ocean, so some of the experienced kite fliers had a lot of fun flying while standing in the shallow waves along the shoreline.
